Haddonstone – the UK’s leading manufacturer of fine cast stone garden and landscape ornaments – has added many designs, including statues and planters, from Leazes Park to the standard collection. Newcastle City Council approached Haddonstone to help with the refurbishment of the historical landscape at Leazes Park. The company then created several custom-made designs for the park. These have all now been added to the Haddonstone Collection. Music holds a classical lyre in her left hand, an instrument attributed to the Greek God Hermes whilst the elegant statue representing Poetry stands clutching a bound volume of verse. Featuring bold acanthus leaf decoration to the bowl, the Leazes Park Urn was created specifically for the restoration of Leazes Park in Newcastle. Aquila was the immortal eagle of Zeus, king of the gods. Since ancient times, the eagle has been considered a symbol of power and victory. Left and right hand versions were created for Leazes Park and both now available in the standard range. The Leazes Park Lion was the final design created for the park. The replica of a majestic lion – recreated using only an image from a Victorian postcard – is already in the standard range. All of these designs are featured in Haddonstone’s inspirational new 208 page catalogue alongside designs from planters and fountains to balustrading and follies.
